In 1924, the Rosario plant was inaugurated on the banks of the Paraná River in the town of Villa Gobernador Galves, in the province of Santa Fe. The company reaches 70% of the beef export market. In 1954 a canning system developed by Argentine technicians was introduced. The Argentine group Carnes Argentinas acquired the company through a public auction in 1977. Since 1978 the company has been called “Swift Armor S.A Argentina”, and in 1980 Campbell Soup Co., an American company, a world leader in soups, takes control of Swift’s shares. Restructuring, growth and new investments begin at the Rosario plant. In 2005, the company was acquired by the JBS S.A. group. After this acquisition, a process of growth and expansion begins, tripling the capacity for sacrifice and doubling the workforce. In addition to the Villa Gobernador Gálvez (Santa Fe) and San José (Entre Ríos) plants, We acquires 5 additional plants in Argentina.
